Location: Charlottesville, VA
Work Shift: First (Days) – 6:30 am to 3 pm Monday‑Friday, with weekend call 1 day per 6 weeks and rotating holiday call from 7 am to 7 pm.
OverviewSentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a full‑time, first‑shift Senior Central Sterile Service Technician.
Duties & Responsibilities- Staff assignments, validation checks, OR coordination and turnover.
- Staff supervision and support, assisting vendors with required tray needs.
- Decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and preparation of surgical instruments, medical equipment, and supplies.
- Operate and maintain sterilization equipment according to established procedures and standards.
- Examine medical equipment for defects and report faulty equipment.
- Ensure compliance with all local and federal health and safety regulations.
- Serve as a preceptor and educator for new team members; provide hands‑on training and orientation.
- Manage work allocations for peers within the department.
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- 2 years of related experience required.
- Ability to transition between tasks efficiently.
- Teamwork and communication skills.
- EVS, acute hospital experience or hospital inventory experience preferred.
- Previous supervisor or leadership experience preferred.
- BLS required within 90 days of hire.
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) required.
CSS, Sterile services, EVS, SPD, Inventory, Supply, Support, Healthcare, CRCST, Blueridge.
