Location: Charlottesville, VA

Work Shift: First (Days) – 6:30 am to 3 pm Monday‑Friday, with weekend call 1 day per 6 weeks and rotating holiday call from 7 am to 7 pm.

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a full‑time, first‑shift Senior Central Sterile Service Technician.

• Staff assignments, validation checks, OR coordination and turnover.
• Staff supervision and support, assisting vendors with required tray needs.
• Decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and preparation of surgical instruments, medical equipment, and supplies.
• Operate and maintain sterilization equipment according to established procedures and standards.
• Examine medical equipment for defects and report faulty equipment.
• Ensure compliance with all local and federal health and safety regulations.
• Serve as a preceptor and educator for new team members; provide hands‑on training and orientation.
• Manage work allocations for peers within the department.

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• 2 years of related experience required.
• Ability to transition between tasks efficiently.
• Teamwork and communication skills.
• EVS, acute hospital experience or hospital inventory experience preferred.
• Previous supervisor or leadership experience preferred.

• BLS required within 90 days of hire.
• Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) required.
