Responsibilities

St. Louis Behavioral Medicine Institute (SLBMI) is seeking licensed psychologists with expertise and passion in integrating religion and spirituality with evidence‑based psychotherapy. The role involves providing psychological evaluations for clergy and clergy candidates, administering group therapy, and presenting psycho‑educational workshops on spirituality and well‑being.

Note

Local candidates in Missouri are preferred.

Shift

Monday‑Friday, dayshift. Onsite & remote work available, with some onsite work required for assessment components.

About The Psychology & Religion Program
  • Clinicians participate in the program's assessment team, providing psychological evaluations for clergy and clergy candidates.
  • Clinicians may also offer group therapy and conduct psycho‑educational workshops in the community on topics related to spirituality and well‑being, and clergy/minister wellness.

Onboarding Options
  • Full‑time base salary guarantee (benefits‑eligible) transitional plan, typically four months, to allow new providers time to build their caseload.
Specialist‑in‑Training Option
  • Transitional training plan of six months for licensed providers who need additional training within their program’s area of specialization before becoming a specialist.
  • Includes a reduced minimum caseload, weekly supervision, assigned reading, didactic sessions, increased conceptualization in treatment plans, and open supervision discussions.
Qualifications
  • Completed a doctoral degree in a clinical mental health field (e.g., PsyD or Ph.D) and fully licensed by the State of Missouri to practice independently.
  • Psychologists not residing in Missouri must have a current Psychology license in a PSYPACT state, hold a current PSYPACT credential, and be willing to maintain that credential.
  • Credentialed‑eligible for managed care panels in Missouri; 90‑day wait period for insurance credentialing before starting.
  • Strong background in the integration of religion/spirituality and psychotherapy preferred.
  • Expertise in psychological evaluation and report writing.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Clinical specialization that complements the Institute’s current offerings (e.g., neuropsychology, addiction specialist, couples and family).
