Position Summary

The primary responsibilities of the Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) – WFH are to provide an optimal customer service experience for our patients, physicians, caregivers, and internal departments. The PCC will answer questions, solve problems, provide education, and maintain our company’s reputation for high‑quality service. Responsibilities include verifying insurance coverage, performing benefit investigation, obtaining prior authorization, and supporting the patient from the point of admissions/onboarding through the benefits verification and billing process to ensure a seamless experience.

Required Qualifications
  • Two years’ experience in a customer service or high‑volume call‑center role
  • One year’s experience in healthcare, pharmacy, medical insurance, or billing environment
  • Minimum one year experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
Key Qualifications and Functions
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, including active listening
  • Working knowledge of insurance, health care processing of new referrals, providing customer education, and routine assessment and problem identification
  • Ability to assess a situation and identify potential issues or problems
  • Ability to educate and explain complex information in a simplified manner
  • Ability to display empathy and patience when dealing with confused or irate customers
  • Attention to detail while capturing necessary information from patient discussions while toggling between numerous computer applications
  • Ability to multi‑task, prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Ability to work independently and be self‑directed in completing responsibilities
  • Will sit at a desk for long periods of time, talk on the phone for extended periods, use a computer for extended periods, and read a computer screen
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in pharmacy, PBM or specialty pharmacy
  • Experience working with medical billing procedures
  • Experience with prior authorizations
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and third‑party vendors
  • Knowledge of government and patient assistance programs
Education
  • P – Equivalent experience
  • R – High School Diploma or General Equivalency Development (GED)
Anticipated Weekly Hours
  • 40 hours

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is $17.00 to $31.30 per hour. The actual base salary offer will depend on experience, education, geography, and other factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission, or short‑term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
