Join a leading global pharmaceutical organisation as an Epidemiologist and play a key role in shaping evidence generation that drives impactful healthcare decisions. This is an exciting opportunity for a quantitatively strong researcher who is passionate about real‑world data, epidemiologic methods, and contributing to innovative drug development.
About the RoleAs an Epidemiologist, you will support the design, execution, and interpretation of epidemiologic research across multiple therapeutic areas. You’ll work with rich real‑world healthcare datasets, guide analysts, and contribute to strategic discussions within product teams and the wider epidemiology function. Your work will help advance scientific understanding and inform decisions that ultimately improve patient outcomes worldwide.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and write Statistical Analysis Plans (SAPs) for epidemiologic studies.
- Contribute to projects leveraging real‑world healthcare data assets (e.g.,
CPRD
, HES
, UK Biobank
). - Guide analysts in exploring and applying real‑world data effectively.
- Support research strategy within product teams and the epidemiology therapeutic area.
- Provide scientific input in epidemiology department meetings.
- Stay current with developments in epidemiology, drug development, and RWD methodologies.
- Promote epidemiologic awareness and best practices across the organisation.
- Communicate complex scientific information clearly to diverse audiences.
- PhD in Epidemiology, Statistics, Genetic Epidemiology, or another quantitative discipline.
- Hands‑on experience with CPRD and HES and/or UK Biobank.
- Strong background in epidemiologic research and observational data analysis.
- Skilled in communicating epidemiological concepts in both written and verbal formats.
- Proficiency in SAS, R, or similar statistical software.
- Experience designing, conducting, and analysing epidemiologic studies in a pharmaceutical or public health environment.
- Familiarity with additional large healthcare databases.
- Experience in project planning and management within epidemiology.
- Proven ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Publication record in peer‑reviewed journals.
