Regional Pharmacy Manager (Flint Hills) - Pharmacy - FT - Day
Join Stormont Vail Health as the Regional Pharmacy Manager overseeing medication therapy management and advancement of pharmacy clinical services throughout the Manhattan & Flint Hills Regions.
OverviewThis position is responsible for all aspects of medication therapy management, newest guidelines/protocols, pharmacy clinical services advancement, and clinical program management. It includes monitoring evidence-based medicine, facilitating process improvements, developing policies, updating medication formulary to decrease drug spend, educating staff, enhancing patient outcomes, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities- Manage a team of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians at the Flint Hills Campus and throughout the region.
- Act as Pharmacist in Charge, supervise staffing, ensure efficient workflow, accurate dispensing and patient counseling.
- Oversee pharmacy residency and student programs.
- Develop, implement, and maintain systems that promote safe, cost-effective drug therapies.
- Meet financial and quality metrics for retail and specialty pharmacy.
- Collaborate closely with medical staff, nursing, nutrition, infection prevention, laboratory, and other leaders on clinical initiatives, formulary adjustments, SOPs, policies, guidelines, order sets, and program implementation.
- Address daily issues, customer service interactions, and vendor/customer relationships.
- Advance the pharmacy profession with research, national presentations, and publications.
- Understand the 340B program and compliance requirements.
- Handle hiring, training, performance appraisal, discipline, and problem resolution.
- Ensure compliance with controlled substance records, federal and state licenses, and all applicable laws and regulations.
- Coordinate and supervise departmental automation initiatives and new workflows.
- Develop and oversee retail/specialty formulary management and medication therapy management programs.
- Implement educational and competency training programs for staff, students, residents, and other professionals.
- Education:
Bachelor’s Degree graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy. - Residency/Fellowship:
Completion of PGY-1 or PGY-2 in pharmacy practice.
- Minimum 7 years experience in the field (PGY-1 satisfies 3 of these years).
- At least 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience.
- Prior specialty pharmacy and 340B experience is preferred.
- Pharmacist license in Kansas (or eligibility for licensure). Must obtain active license within 90 days of employment.
- Immunization certificate within one year of employment.
- Complies with all Stormont Vail Health policies, mandatory training, and requirements.
- All duties are patient facing.
- Eligible for remote work based on role requirements and approved by supervisor.
Typical physical demands include lifting, carrying, reaching, standing, sitting, walking, and repetitive motions as described in the role specifications.
Working ConditionsOffice environment with occasional exposure to chemical agents, noise, and workplace hazards as described in role specifications.
