Job Description

As a Regional Territory Manager working on the Gastroenterology Sales Team, you will drive product demand in targeted physician offices and key clinics, impacting patients’ lives.

Accountabilities
  • Support account onboarding, including education and procedures.
  • Engage in clinical selling activities, delivering the clinical value proposition and advancing customers across a brand belief continuum.
  • Provide initial clinical educational support and in‑service for medical staff.
  • Coordinate and support clinical education opportunities and programs for HCPs, such as peer‑to‑peer discussions.
  • Conduct account management activities within GI practices, clinics, outlets, and independent physician offices.
  • Achieve sales goals and objectives by delivering specialty product volume and other key metrics in the assigned territory, using discretion and judgment to execute franchise and brand strategy tactics.
  • Establish professional relationships with Health Care Providers, support staff, and influencers within assigned customers.
  • Develop and deliver a targeted sales message based on accurate clinical information, utilizing approved marketing materials and medical reprints, and discuss therapeutic strategies.
  • Execute marketing strategies at the local level, collaborating with company team members to enhance business results.
  • Present complex clinical and business information on Takeda’s specialty products to Gastroenterologists and other healthcare professionals.
  • Implement medical education opportunities and sponsor programs to expand HCP knowledge, staying current on disease states and treatments.
  • Strategically manage all allocated resources, including budgets, markets, medical affairs, and home office support.
Education, Behavioral Competencies and Skills Required
  • Bachelor’s degree – BA/BS
  • Minimum 5 years direct selling experience to healthcare professionals in pharmaceutical, biotech, device, or healthcare industry.
  • Experience discussing therapeutic strategies to inform and influence decision makers.
  • Skill in developing and applying clinical and business expertise, with effective selling skills.
  • Ability to execute local marketing strategies.
  • Strong collaboration within teams.
  • Business and strategic planning skills to identify unique selling opportunities.
  • Understanding of the managed care landscape and its impact on business.
  • Strong verbal, influencing, presentation, and written communication skills.
  • Reside within or close proximity to assigned geography.
Preferred
  • Experience managing and communicating complex reimbursement issues.
  • Experience calling on Gastroenterologists.
Training Requirements
  • Position contingent upon successful completion of mandatory product training, including written and oral examinations.
  • During training, employee classified as non‑exempt and eligible for overtime per law, but not eligible for sales incentives; training period limited to 8 hours/day and 40 hours/week

  • After training, employee transitions to exempt status, eligible for bi‑weekly pay and sales incentive programs.
Licenses / Certifications

Valid Driver’s License

Travel Requirements
  • Must have a valid driver’s license issued in the US with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to drive and/or fly to meetings and client sites.
  • Some overnight travel required – 25 % to 50 %, depending on geographic assignment.
