- Review inpatient hospital claims to ensure proper reimbursement and handle provider disputes
- Assign appropriate procedural terminology and medical codes to patient records
- Analyze, enter, and manipulate databases for accurate claims payment and diagnosis-related group assignments
- Respond to internal requests for medical information and clarify discrepancies
- Make independent decisions regarding work methods while adhering to established guidelines
- RHIA, RHIT, or CCS Certification, with a minimum of 4 years of experience in one of these qualifications
- MS-DRG coding/auditing experience
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting claims
- Experience in performing inpatient coding reviews/audits in health insurance and/or hospital settings
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Experience in APR DRG coding/auditing
- Background in Financial Recovery
- Familiarity with a fast-paced, metrics-driven operational setting
