Position Summary

Supports an organizational culture for Service Excellence and practices the Service Excellence Standards to all customer groups. Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, house supervisor, and charge nurse, attends to patient’s direct care needs and performs tasks as delegated. Assists in delivering treatment, safety, and activities of daily living as part of a multi‑disciplinary treatment team. Performs duties assigned of observation rounding, medical procedures, leads topic‑specific groups, manages milieu, trains new employees, documents, and safety rounds.

Job Duties / Responsibilities
  • Maintain current BLS certification.
  • Maintain current Handle with Care certification.
  • Attend at least 80% of departmental staff meetings.
  • Attend required in‑service trainings.
  • Demonstrate proper Infection Control procedures by consistently using standard precautions.
  • Presents a neat, professional appearance consistent with the hospital dress code.
  • Comply with local, state, federal and JC standards and guidelines.
  • Adhere to safety policy and procedures to promote safe work practices.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of policies and procedures specific to position/department.
  • Maintain proper boundaries when interacting with patients, their families, and co‑workers.
  • Seek direction or clarification from supervisor when necessary.
  • Treat patients with respect according to patient rights and responsibilities.
  • Communicate in a positive, compassionate and professional manner with patients, staff and visitors.
  • Check all mail and correspondence and respond to requests in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrate “cultural competence” by awareness of cultural differences and the impact of one’s own personal and professional values and attitudes, and willingness to adjust to the cultural differences of patients and families and co‑workers when working with them.
  • Comply with hospital attendance policy.
