Job Summary
Under general supervision of the Sterile Processing Supervisor and in accordance with established policies, procedures, and standards, the Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for maintaining and distributing surgical instruments and medical equipment for Surgical Services and Ancillary Departments. The technician works in conjunction with customer staff to provide timely sterile products, trays, and case carts, ensuring continuous product flow between the OR and Sterile Processing while upholding the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital.
Responsibilities• Maintain and distribute surgical instruments and medical equipment.
• Collaborate with customer staff to provide timely sterile products, trays, and case carts.
• Ensure consistent and continuous product flow between the OR and Sterile Processing.
Qualifications- High school diploma or G.E.D. required.
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in Sterile Processing preferred.
- IAHCSMM or certification from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CSBPD) strongly desired.
- Basic computer knowledge required.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
