Overview
Sentara RMH Medical Center is hiring a Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist or Interventional Technologist for the EP lab. This is a Full Time, Day shift in Harrisonburg, VA! Three 12-hour shifts. This role will be at the new opening in November 2026 but will train in the main hospital lab.
Hours of the department will be 7a to 7:30p, Monday - Friday.
NO Weekends, No Call!
Smaller bedside procedures are completed within this area (TEE Procedures, for example). The echocardiography lab is high-volume with close to 9,500 procedures performed annually. The lab works closely with invasive cardiology (structural heart, electrophysiology, diagnostic/interventional cath) and cardiothoracic surgery services.
The Sentara RMH Heart and Vascular team is comprised of cardiologists, electrophysiologists, vascular surgeons, cardiothoracic surgeons, and interventional cardiologists who have education and training from prestigious medical schools. They are committed to providing high quality heart and vascular services to our community.
ResponsibilitiesThe Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist performs/reviews a baseline patient assessment, evaluates patient response to diagnostic or interventional maneuvers during cardiac catheterization laboratory procedures. Provides patient care commonly used in the cardiac catheterization laboratory as requested and under the direction of a qualified physician. The Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist acts as a first assistant during diagnostic and therapeutic catheterization.
ACLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
Education- High School Graduate or Equivalent required
- A graduate of a diploma, associates, or bachelor’s health sciences program (includes, but is not limited to cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy or nursing) or a licensed/certified EMT or paramedic.
- Trade School graduate preferred
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) OR ARRT Radiology Preferred
- BLS required within 90 days of hire
- ACLS required within 90 days of hire
- 1 year of Cardiac Technician experience preferred
- Medication administration experience preferred
- Specialty procedures experience preferred
- EP and Cardiac Cath Experience preferred
- Sterile procedure experience preferred
