Job Overview

This on‑site role is located at Ardent - Lovelace Medical Center in Albuquerque, NM. The role involves performing admitting duties for all patients admitted for services at the hospital while meeting the mission, goals, and regulatory compliance requirements.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assign accurate MRNs, complete medical necessity/compliance checks, provide patient instructions, collect insurance information, receive and process physician orders, and use the overlay tool while delivering excellent customer service as measured by Press Ganey.
  • Operate the telephone switchboard to relay incoming, outgoing, and inter‑office calls.
  • Adhere to policies and provide compassionate customer service in all interactions.
  • Be held accountable for point‑of‑service goals as assigned.
  • Utilize quality auditing and reporting systems to correct accounts, conduct audits, and provide statistical data to leadership.
  • Pre‑register patient accounts before visits, including inbound/outbound calls to gather demographic, insurance, and financial information and collect past‑due balances.
  • Explain consent for treatment forms, obtain signatures, and distribute patient education documents (Medicare, Tricare, Observation Forms, MOON, Consent forms, etc.).
  • Review eligibility in the insurance verification system, select the correct plan code, and enter benefit data to support POS and billing processes.
  • Screen medical necessity using Advanced Beneficiary Notice (ABN) software, inform Medicare patients of potential non‑payment, and distribute ABN and other designated forms.
Experience We Love
  • 1+ years of customer service experience
Minimum Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required
Certifications
  • CRCR required within 9 months of hire (company paid)
