Medical Coder Certified - USFTGP RCO
Join Tampa General Hospital in the Medical Coder Certified role to accurately code, verify charges, and abstract data essential for billing across healthcare settings. The coder reviews medical records to apply ICD‑10, CPT, HCPCS and specialty system classifications, ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and regulatory requirements for proper reimbursement.
Qualifications- High School Diploma or GED
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist – Physician (CCS‑P)
- Minimum of two (2) years of practical coding experience; performance must meet a 95% accuracy rate in coding assessments
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD‑10, and HCPCS coding systems
- Understanding of medical terminology and reimbursement methodologies
- Ability to work independently and complete assignments within given instructions
Primary
Location:
Tampa, FL (USF Faculty Office Building). Hybrid Remote work available (Day Job, Monday–Friday). Full‑time position.
Minimum salary: $45,822.40 per annum.
