Senior Coding Educator

Senior Coding Educator – Humana

Base pay range: $71,100 – $97,800 per year.

• Identify opportunities to improve provider documentation and create tailored education plans for each assigned provider.
• Create and execute risk adjustment strategies for each provider group.
• Analyze data and reporting; deliver educational sessions with providers focused on quality of care, documentation, and coding improvements.
• Collaborate with relationship owners and HQRI.
• Research data and workflow processes and arrange educational sessions with providers aimed at quality of care and documentation improvements.
• Monitor and develop strategy with the Coding Educator and leader, tailoring provider group webinars and discussions based on various Risk Adjustment topics.

• AAPC CPC (Certified Professional Coder) Certification.
• 2 or more years of medical record review knowledge.
• 2 or more years of risk adjustment provider education.
• Familiarity with coding guidelines (ICD‑9/ICD‑10).
• Comprehensive knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience analyzing data to drive process improvement.
• Public speaking and presentation skills.

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Certified Risk Coder (CRC).
• Experience interacting with healthcare providers.
• Independence in work.
• Medicare Risk Adjustment knowledge.
• Experience building education strategies in Power BI.

Department

Hours:

7 am to 5 pm EST. Work from home with up to 25% travel to surrounding provider offices. Remote position with occasional travel for training or meetings.

Schedule:

40 hours per week.

Home internet must meet a minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and upload speed of 10 Mbps; secure connection for PHI/HIPAA protected. Associates in California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota receive a bi‑weekly payment for internet expense.
