Senior Coding Educator – Humana
Humana is seeking a Senior Coding Educator to improve provider documentation, develop educational plans, and execute risk adjustment strategies for our provider groups. The role involves data analysis, collaborative education sessions, and ongoing improvement of coding practices.
Base Pay Range$71,100.00/yr – $97,800.00/yr
Responsibilities- Identify opportunities to improve provider documentation and create tailored education plans for assigned providers.
- Develop and execute risk adjustment strategies for each provider group.
- Analyze data and reporting, providing educational sessions with providers aimed at quality of care, documentation, and coding improvements.
- Collaborate with relationship owners and HQRI to align educational initiatives.
- Research data and workflow processes, arranging educational sessions focused on quality of care and documentation improvements.
- Monitor and develop strategies with Coding Educator and leadership, tailoring provider group webinars and discussions on various Risk Adjustment topics.
- AAPC CPC (Certified Professional Coder) Certification.
- 2+ years of medical record review knowledge.
- 2+ years of risk adjustment provider education.
- Familiarity with coding guidelines (e.g., ICD-9/ICD-10).
- Comprehensive knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Data analysis skills to drive process improvement.
- Experience with public speaking and presentation skills.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Certified Risk Coder (CRC).
- Experience interacting with healthcare providers.
- Ability to work independently.
- Knowledge of Medicare Risk Adjustment.
- Experience building education strategies in Power BI.
Full‑time, 40‑hour work week with remote work as primary location; up to 25% travel to provider offices may be required. Eligible for a bonus incentive plan based on performance.
