SR INPATIENT CODER (CERT)- VHS (REMOTE PER DIEM)

Position type:
Full‑time, Remote per diem

Responsible for preparing statistical reports, coding diseases and operations according to accepted classification systems and maintaining indices according to established policies and procedures.

• Prepare statistical reports for patient data.
• Code inpatient and outpatient diagnoses and procedures using ICD‑10‑CM, CPT, and HCPCS.
• Maintain coding accuracy at or above 95 %.
• Cross‑over coding types (IP, OP, ASC, ER).
• Ensure compliance with coding policies and procedures.

• ACUTE INPATIENT EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• Education:
  
  RHIA or RHIT graduate preferred; AHIMA approved program.
• Minimum 3 years recent inpatient and outpatient coding experience.
• Ability to cross‑over between all coding types and maintain 95 % accuracy.
• 1–3 years coding experience in an acute care setting.
• Computer proficiency, analytical skills, ICD‑10‑CM/CPT coding knowledge.
• Credentialed as RHIT/RHIA or CCS required.
• Extensive knowledge of coding procedures, reimbursement system, medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
