Remote Medical Account Receivable Specialist

Location:

Remote (must reside in one of the following states:
North Dakota, South Dakota, Idaho, Minnesota, Montana, New Mexico, Wyoming, Nevada, Texas, Arizona, Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Michigan)

Pay: $18-20/hr depending on experience and state.

We lead the physical therapy clinic platform in the U.S., operating over 200 clinics that provide a variety of outpatient services. Our company, ranked as a top workplace in 2021, seeks an independent, detail‑oriented medical collector to handle full‑range payor follow‑up and ensure timely payments.

We support more than 200 independently owned physical rehabilitation clinics across sixteen states, employing over 1,800 people. We provide operational and administrative support to therapist partners so they can focus on delivering high‑quality patient care.

Job Responsibilities
  • Manage primary and secondary claims
  • Respond promptly to billing inquiries from patients, insurance companies, and departments
  • Work with clinics to identify and resolve issues regarding outstanding account balances
  • Resolve denials and submit appeals
  • Utilize efficient resources to secure timely payment of open claims
  • Research assigned correspondence and take necessary action to resolve requests
  • Ensure daily accomplishments contribute toward company goals for accounts receivable
  • Resolve accounts in follow‑up queues
Qualifications
  • High School / GED or equivalent education and experience
  • At least 2 years of medical receivable collections experience (preferred)
  • Understanding of medical claims processing and insurance
  • Knowledge of state and federal billing regulations
  • Ability to interpret claim denials, rejections, and Explanation of Benefits
  • Strong medical terminology knowledge
Education
  • High school or equivalent (preferred)
Experience
  • Medical collections: 2 years (preferred)
