Senior Analytics Consultant – Medical Economics Job Summary

Senior Analytics Consultant – Medical Economics role supports medical cost trend analysis for the Government Business segment, with a primary focus on the Medicare Advantage business. This role is responsible for developing in-depth medical expense analyses, conducting detailed data drill-downs to identify key trend drivers, and executing strategic initiatives designed to address medical cost trends.

This position offers exposure to a broad spectrum of the organization, with findings and reports shared across various departments including Finance, Risk Management, Operations, Contracting, Provider Relations, Health Services, Product, Clinical, and local market leadership.

• Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of experience in health care services, statistical analysis, or insurance industry economics or related field
• Master’s degree with 4 years of experience in health care services, statistical analysis, or insurance industry economics or related field
• PhD with 2 years of experience in health care services, statistical analysis, or insurance industry economics or related field
• 10 years of experience in health care services, statistical analysis, or insurance industry economics or related field
• Highly proficient at querying a wide variety of internal and external data sources to uncover meaningful insights and drive measurable business results.
• High degree of business intelligence with proven experience leading analytic initiatives from conception to successful implementation, delivering actionable insights that influence strategic and operational outcomes.
• Strong interpersonal skills that can be leveraged to deliver meaningful business focused presentations to our matrix partners and provide a clear and concise interpretation of the analysis performed.
• Demonstrate success working both independently and in cross-functional team settings.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a matrixed environment and deliver high quality outputs to senior leadership on tight deadlines.

• Experience with CMS healthcare data (e.g. MMR, Claims, Eligibility, Provider)
• Experience with CMS payment methodologies (e.g. IPPS, OPPS, etc.)
• Familiarity with medical and pharmacy claims, ICD
  10, DRG, APC, HCPCS and/or CPT
• Experience with Teradata, Hadoop, or other big data platforms and ability to create dynamic and visually engaging dashboards leveraging data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI

This is a Flex (Hybrid) role: 3 days in office; 2 days remote work.
