Pharmacy Product Strategy & Development LeadYou’ll be at the forefront of driving innovation and growth for UHC Employer & Individual (E&I). Partnering closely with the VP of Strategy & Innovation, you’ll transform insights into action—crafting bold strategies, building market‑leading products, and delivering solutions that redefine client value.
Remote work is available from anywhere in the U.S. For hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.
Primary Responsibilities- Lead Market Intelligence & Strategy—be the eyes and ears of the market, track regulatory shifts, pharma strategies, and investment trends; anticipate future spend patterns and competitive moves; represent UHC E&I in key forums.
- Drive Product Innovation & Growth—assess the current portfolio, identify opportunities, design and own a dynamic growth roadmap, champion new ideas through the stage‑gate process, and lead product development from concept to commercialization.
- Shape Financial & Pricing Strategy—collaborate with Finance to build pro forma models, develop pricing strategies that balance client value and profitability, and ensure alignment with underwriting and P&L models.
- Ignite Cross‑Functional Collaboration—partner with Marketing to craft compelling positioning, equip Growth teams, and work with Product Management to activate performance reporting.
- Deliver Market Solutions That Matter—create innovative solutions across Optum and UHG, and support post‑launch success during the warranty period.
- Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare, or related field.
- 7+ years in health insurance or managed pharmacy, PBM, or pharma manufacturer industries.
- 7+ years in product development, agile & waterfall methodologies.
- Proven experience in product strategy, development, or management within healthcare or pharmacy sectors.
- Deep understanding of regulatory environments, PBM, and payer dynamics.
- Solid analytical, financial modeling, and strategic planning skills.
- Experienced leader of cross‑functional teams and senior stakeholder influence.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated success in building growth strategies and launching new products.
- High initiative, disciplined follow‑through, and passion for innovation.

Pay is based on several factors including local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase, and 401(k) contribution. The salary for this role will range from $110,200 to $188,800 annually based on full‑time employment.
