Founded in 2000, Surestep custom devices are sold through its vast network of O&P partners throughout the United States and in more than 30 countries.
The primary responsibility of the role is to generate incremental demand and revenue for Surestep products among the selected territories or key accounts assigned to them.
The ideal candidate will be a certified orthotist or certified prosthetist/orthotist and will have direct experience selling to the O&P community, preferably in Pediatric Lower Extremity Orthotics. The candidate must be able to develop an integrated sales and marketing effort that maximizes both short‑term impacts and long‑term customer and revenue sustainability, and build and expand the pediatric orthotics market in a specified region or major geographical area.
The territory for this position will focus on the West Coast, including California, Washington, Oregon, Arizona, and Nevada. This is a remote position; candidates must reside within the defined territory and travel is required.
- Drive growth with all Surestep products by creating and implementing sales and marketing strategy specific to customer base and the defined territory.
- Lead or coordinate "in-service training sessions" and otherwise present at market/product educational events, providing additional customer support to key customers. This role works closely with customers and Surestep teams to align strategies to grow sales and revenue in specified markets.
- Assess and prioritize customer base and allocate time according to the opportunities for most significant impact.
- Create onboarding programs and product training for customers as they sign on to using Surestep products.
- Identify and participate in trade shows that could maximize market impact.
- Identify customer needs and work with Surestep Education and Marketing team on training and education for assigned customers.
- Identify market needs and requirements and be able to effectively articulate a compelling and differentiated value proposition.
- Be well‑versed in public speaking, with ability to engage and educate groups of any size both in‑person and virtually. Preferred: deep understanding of pediatric lower extremity orthotics, indications for use of Surestep products, and outcomes produced.
- Track and measure the effectiveness of the program and adjust, as needed, to improve our approach.
- Administrative Requirements:
- Daily/Weekly updates to contact management and sales activity in Salesforce.
- Proficient in MS Office with a solid understanding of PowerPoint and Excel.
- Responsible for setting up meetings, flights, rental cars, and hotels.
- Certified Orthotist or Certified Prosthetist/Orthotist with Sales and Marketing experience.
- Typically requires a minimum of 8+ years of related experience.
- Postgraduate coursework may be expected at this level.
- Must have, or be eligible to obtain, a valid driver’s license and driving record within the standards outlined in Hanger’s Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures.
