Therapeutic Specialist, HIV – Pais Vasco, Bilbao

Specific responsibilities- Prepare business and account plans for your territory aligned to local brand plan priorities for HIV, and communicate required actions to achieve goals.
- Identify and map patient referral journey pathways within the territory and facilitate patient access to treatment.
- Achieve sales targets in the assigned territory.
- Partner with Regional Market Access, Medical colleagues, and Marketing to ensure local access to Gilead HIV medicines.
- Establish and develop business relationships with key customers, accounts, and relevant key opinion leaders; set and achieve customer contact plans and related KPIs.
- Manage territory budgets for customer contacts, speaker events and other external expenditures.
- Represent the company at professional events and promote products.
- Work cooperatively with Gilead Medical Scientists, National Account Managers, Marketing and Market Access on cross‑functional projects.
- Assist in identifying and resolving issues and opportunities; communicate proactively to Marketing and Sales management.
- Complete necessary administrative tasks in a timely manner (e.g., updating customer database, expenses).
- Achieve the competency levels required for the role.
- Ensure compliance with country regulations and the code of conduct at all times.
- Travel as required; overnight stays may be necessary depending on location.
- Passion for commercializing breakthrough medicine, strong competitive and commercial mindset, robust scientific acumen, and patient‑centric approach.
- Prior experience in the pharmaceutical industry is required; experience in the HIV therapeutic area preferred.
- Scientific degree in Sciences, Pharma or related field required.
- Established contacts with relevant customers.
- Sound scientific expertise and ability to stay current on emerging data.
- Ability to understand and digest original publications and talks.
- Understanding of how HIV services are delivered.
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to lead and build relationships internally and externally.
