Job Summary

Houston Skilled Consultancy is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and experienced Online Couples Counselor to provide remote therapy and guidance to couples facing relationship challenges. The ideal candidate will facilitate a safe, confidential, and supportive environment, helping clients navigate conflicts, improve communication, and strengthen their relationships. This role combines clinical expertise with strong interpersonal skills in a fully virtual setting, offering flexible work opportunities while making a meaningful impact on clients lives.

• Conduct online counseling sessions with couples, assessing relationship dynamics, and identifying areas for improvement.

• Develop individualized therapy plans based on evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), or other recognized approaches.

• Facilitate conflict resolution, improve communication strategies, and address emotional or behavioral issues within relationships.

• Maintain accurate, confidential client records and progress notes in compliance with HIPAA and ethical standards.

• Collaborate with other mental health professionals when necessary for holistic care.

• Provide educational resources and tools to support couples in achieving their goals.

• Stay current with developments in couples therapy, online counseling tools, and relevant research.

• Masters or Doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.

• Valid license to practice as a Couples Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or equivalent.

• Proven experience in online or teletherapy counseling sessions.

• Strong interpersonal, listening, and communication skills.

• Ability to assess complex relationship dynamics and offer practical, empathetic solutions.

• Familiarity with online counseling platforms and digital tools for remote therapy.

• Minimum 2–3 years of professional experience in couples counseling, relationship therapy, or clinical counseling.

• Prior experience in teletherapy or online counseling is highly preferred.

• Flexible remote schedule; full-time or part-time opportunities available.

• Ability to conduct sessions during evenings or weekends may be required to accommodate client schedules.

• In-depth understanding of family systems, relationship psychology, and behavioral interventions.

• Ability to build trust and rapport quickly with clients in a virtual environment.

• Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.

• Competent in maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality online.

• Technologically adept and comfortable using video conferencing software, scheduling platforms, and digital records systems.
