Intern
Zeno is seeking a highly motivated Policy Intern to support the mission-oriented efforts of developing and bringing to market Radioisotope Power Systems (RPS) technologies. This role will work directly with the Policy & Government Affairs Manager on nuclear energy, space, maritime, and supply chain policy.
In this role you will:
- Support Zeno’s engagement in the federal appropriations and authorization cycles
- Track and analyze legislation, including the Appropriations process, National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), and NASA Reauthorization Act
- Draft concise policy memos, briefing materials, and background research for internal use
- Monitor hearings and legislative activity and provide written summaries
- Lead an independent policy research project aligned with company priorities and present findings to Zeno leadership at the conclusion of the internship
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in public policy, political science, international affairs, economics, engineering, or a related field
- Strong interest in nuclear energy, space policy, defense, or energy supply chains
- Self‑starter capable of managing projects independently
- Excellent writing and analytical skills
- Creative problem solver and comfortable working in a fast‑paced startup environment
- Position requires in‑office presence in Washington, D.C. (Mt. Vernon/Chinatown) on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, remote work is optional on Mondays and Fridays

The anticipated compensation for this is $25/Hour. The final compensation will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, years of relevant experience, skills, qualifications, certifications, and other business considerations.
