We live in a data-driven society, and policing continues to evolve to meet the challenges of the digital age. Our mission is to relentlessly pursue criminals, protect the vulnerable, and reduce crime-wherever it occurs.

Policing generates and holds vast amounts of data for law enforcement and operational purposes. Ensuring this data is used lawfully, fairly, and proportionately-without infringing on individual rights-is critical. That's where our Information Governance (IG) team comes in.

We're looking for an Information Governance Officer to join our in-house IG team and support the delivery of a robust and effective governance function.

About the Role

You’ll play a key role in supporting the triage and assessment of work including:

You’ll also need to be flexible, proactive, and adaptable to support the Constabulary’s journey to becoming an outstanding police force.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the triage and assessment of DPIAs, making balanced, risk-based recommendations
  • Assist with rectification and deletion requests
  • Investigate data breaches confidently and promptly
  • Help assess Information Sharing Agreements and Data Processing Contracts
  • Interpret and apply relevant legislation and protocols
What We Offer
  • A supportive, inclusive team culture built on our values:
    Caring, Courageous, Inclusive, and Learning
  • Empowerment to make decisions and celebrate success
  • Blended working with flexibility to support work-life balance
  • Opportunities for funded professional development and qualifications (subject to performance and funding)
