Job Description & How to Apply Below
Town Planner
Location:
London
Penguin Recruitment is pleased to be working on behalf of a well respected consultancy to recruit a Town Planner for their London office.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Town Planner with 3-5 years' professional experience to join a highly regarded consultancy known for delivering clear, commercially focused planning advice across a range of development sectors.
The Role
The successful Town Planner will play a key role in supporting development management projects, working closely with colleagues and clients throughout the planning process.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing and supporting planning applications from submission through to determination
Undertaking detailed planning policy analysis and case-making
Preparing high-quality planning statements and supporting documentation
Working collaboratively within multi-disciplinary project teams
Liaising with local planning authorities and key stakeholders
Managing multiple projects with a high level of organisation and initiative
About You
The ideal Town Planner will have:
3-5 years' experience within the UK planning system
Strong development management experience, including policy analysis and application case-making
The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
Experience working within multi-disciplinary teams (project management exposure desirable)
Experience from either the private sector or a local authority background
RTPI membership or progress toward chartership
Please note:
this role requires a significant in-office presence at the London office. While some flexibility exists, applicants seeking predominantly hybrid or remote working are unlikely to be suitable.
Business development experience is not required at this level, although an interest in developing this skillset would be welcomed.
Why Apply?
This Town Planner role offers the opportunity to work within a respected consultancy environment, with exposure to quality projects, strong peer support, and clear opportunities for professional progression.
