Position Responsibilities Position SummaryThe Policy Coordinator reports to the Vice Provost for Faculty. The position is responsible for providing expertise and management for the administration of the University policy program. Key responsibilities include overseeing policy development and approval and serving as an informational resource for administrators and others regarding policy content and interpretation. The Policy Coordinator is required to be able to work effectively across the organization with multiple constituencies to ensure continuity in policy modification and implementation.

Job Duties /Responsibilities
- Initiate and implement improvements to the University policy program to ensure compliance with accrediting agencies, the Board of Regents, governmental authorities, and best practices in higher education
- Oversee development, revision, approval, and publication of policies in collaboration with policy owners, administrators, governance bodies, legal counsel, and other stakeholders; ensure opportunities for input and effective communication of changes
- Research and draft policy proposals; assist constituents in drafting policies; benchmark against peer institutions; collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure legal and regulatory compliance
- Maintain accurate records of policy changes
- Ensure websites, manuals, and communications are updated and disseminated appropriately.
- Serve as a resource for policy interpretation

- Assist with continual updating of college and department bylaws; oversee revision, review, and approval for compliance with governing authorities and institutional practices

Position QualificationsRequired Qualifications
- Experience writing technical documents
- Experience explaining rules, regulations, or policies to stakeholders
- Experience working as part of a team and individually meeting deadlines and project goals
- Experience collaborating with or supporting governmental agencies or higher education institutions
- Ability to facilitate discussions and build consensus among stakeholders
- Proven ability to organize information, manage workflows, and maintain records for future reference
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance processes in higher education or related fields
