JUVENILE PROBATION & PAROLE OFFICER I-IV
State of New Hampshire, Department of Health & Human Services, Division for Children, Youth & Families has a full-time vacancy for Juvenile Probation & Parole Officer I-IV.
Responsibilities- Perform entry-level field work by supervising offending juveniles, under supervisory oversight prepare investigation reports and recommendations to the court and/or Juvenile Parole Board in matters of parole or administrative furlough.
- Under supervisory direction attach authority to arrest, take into custody any juvenile found violating any law, or reasonably believed to be a fugitive from justice.
- Make sentencing and restitution recommendations to the Court; attend court hearings and prepare written reports for the courts for use at disposition and review hearings.
- Monitor parent compliance with court orders; ensure appropriate school districts joined as parties.
- Develop parole supervision plans with recommendations on conditions and terms of parole for presentation to Juvenile Parole Board.
- Complete all required documentation, case plans, court reports and Bridges documentation of case related activities.
- Work under direct supervision of a supervisor and receive regularly scheduled weekly supervision.
- Complete all Core Training requirements according to policy, including formal mentor program and 30 hours of in-service training annually.
- May serve as a field training officer for newly hired staff or supervise an intern.
- Education/
Experience:
Equivalent combination of 2.5 years of education and experience after high school for Officer I; associate’s degree and 2 years of experience for Officer II; bachelor’s degree for Officer III and IV. - Legal:
Valid driver’s license and access to transportation. - Other Requirements:
Must be able to travel up to 50 miles away; may be transferred to an assessment unit within the state; must be able to tele-work from home; must work overtime or non-traditional hours. - After-hire Requirements:
Must successfully complete thirty (30) hours of DHHS sponsored and/or approved continuing education/training within 12 months of hire.
