Exceptional Family Resources, a dedicated organization located in Syracuse, New York, provides support to individuals with disabilities and their families. Its workforce includes over 500 employees who deliver direct care and office support.
Role Description
Full time Accountant position supports the finance team members in preparation of monthly financial internal reporting, external reporting to grantors - both quarterly and monthly. Duties included in this support are journal entries, cash receipts, reconciliations, data entry, documentation gathering. This position serves as a back-up to our Accounts Payable position. The finance team is responsible for reporting on 50+ programs and ensuring funding reporting is accurate and processed timely.
The position adheres to monthly deadlines and is often a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in accounting or related field with a minimum of 2 years experience
- Strong Microsoft Excel experience required
- Self-motivated individual with the ability to manage workflows and adhere to defined deadlines
- Knowledge of non-profit fund accounting
- Confidentiality is required
Essential Functions:
- Position prepares and inputs journal entries, cash receipts, reconciliations, and works closely with the team on month-end and year- end closing, Federal and NYS reporting and vouchering.
- Monthly and/or quarterly reporting / vouchering to grantor agency
- Assists in maintaining vendor files for Self Direction.
- Communications with outside grantor funding sources on reporting and payments

Hours and days:
Monday-Friday 8:00am
-4:00pm (Tentative work from home schedule - once trained)
Compensation: $25.00 to $27.00 Per Hour
