Job SummaryPerforms advanced fiscal, accounting, and general ledger functions. Prepares budgets, financial forecasts, and research.
Essential Functions- Manages fiscal and accounting functions; formulates and recommends policies and procedures to effectively administer programs.
- Maintains general ledger accounts; handles funds for units of small size/complexity; prepares general ledger journal entries.
- Prepares financial reports, invoices, schedules, or statements for review and approval.
- Establishes and funds the capital construction accounts in General Ledger and the Job Cost system. Monitors financial status of capital construction projects.
- Prepares and reviews data and assigned accounts in preparation for internal and external audits; researches discrepancies in accounting data which includes auditing and analyzing fiscal data; resolves issues in coordination with others.
- Assists with the planning, coordination, and implementation of budgets.
- Interfaces with various university department personnel, Budget and Controller's Office and DGS Fiscal personnel on project funding.
- Properly capitalizes projects assigned for closing. Communicates with Project Managers to ensure that the costs on projects are accurate and within the scope of work.
