AVP, Finance Business Partner

We are seeking someone to join our Finance team as the AVP Finance Business Partner in Financial Planning & Analysis to be the Finance lead in program life cycle management, which includes supporting the due diligence and onboarding of new opportunities, managing and maintenance of existing business and supporting the renewals of existing programs as well as support other FP&A deliverables.

This role will be front facing and will lead Finance in collaborating with other department leaders in managing the program life cycle.

• Act as a strategic business partner to the program life cycle management
• Manage the due diligence process of new opportunities including financial adequacy analysis of existing and new partners, understanding cashflow, collateral, lines of business, reinsurance, and all components of the program life cycle
• Manage the maintenance of existing programs
• Support the renewal of programs
• Perform financial analysis of MGAs, reinsurers, and other companies
• Track, analyze, and prepare management reporting on status of programs
• Support financial audits including MGAs, regulatory, and external audits
• Support the Head of FP&A and CFO in management of the program life cycle
• Support the FP&A department in budgeting, forecasting, analysis and reporting
• Drive process improvements across program life cycle management, forecasting, planning, reporting, and related activities
• Develop a deep subject matter expertise of the underlying business, technology, modeling, reporting in support of financial planning and analysis
• Support the preparation and development of presentations for executives, board of directors, home office, rating agencies and regulators
• Participate in cross-functional projects to streamline processes with a goal of more time spent on analysis to increase profitability
• Develop and manage financial models to support new product initiatives, growth opportunities, and strategic planning
• Ensure operational excellence by supporting management and taking on projects as assigned
• Drive continuous improvement to maintain a lean and efficient team

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics or similar
• At least 10 years of accounting or finance experience in the P&C industry
• Ability to anticipate upcoming deliverables and build processes to deliver them
• Background in financial analysis
• Excellent communication and staff management skills
