Interim VAT Accountant

Cooper Parry Finance Recruitment (formerly Hutcheon Mearns) is working with a reputable educational institution which offers a flexible and diverse workplace to hire an experienced VAT Accountant for a 6‑9‑month interim position. The successful candidate will take ownership of a project related to EU on‑line education.

This is an urgent requirement, and candidates will be considered on a full time (35 hours per week) or part time basis. Our client is based in Aberdeen and offers hybrid and flexible working. For this position, remote working will also be considered.

• Qualified, part‑qualified, or qualified by experience VAT Accountant with relevant experience
• Immediately available
• Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work independently, prioritise effectively, and deliver within a fixed‑term assignment
• Advanced Excel skills and experience of a large financial system (e.g. Unit4/Agresso, Oracle, SAP)
• Experience with in UK education or the wider public sector (advantageous)
• Familiarity with HE financial governance and audit requirements
