Accountant, Financial Reporting, Tax Accountant

You’ll support the Finance Executive and take largely independent ownership of day-to-day accounting, reporting, and compliance activities across multiple companies/entities. You’ll help ensure accurate financial records, reliable reporting, and strong statutory and governance compliance across the group. This is a hands‑on role for someone who enjoys keeping the numbers clean, the reporting on time, and the compliance calendar under control.

• Taking day-to-day ownership of finance deliverables across multiple entities, with limited supervision
• Capturing and processing financial information in Pastel Accounting
• Processing journals and maintaining the general ledger
• Managing debtors and creditors processing, reconciliations, and related queries
• Maintaining accurate financial records, including petty cash, cashbook, and credit card capturing and reconciliations
• Preparing monthly and ad‑hoc management reports, financial reporting, and analysis
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting by providing accurate financial data and information
• Preparing and submitting VAT and SARS submissions
• Compiling internal and external audit packs and supporting audit processes
• Monitoring compliance deadlines and maintaining a multi‑entity statutory compliance calendar
• Supporting compliance with statutory, regulatory, and internal governance requirements
• Supervising or guiding junior staff / accounting assistants (where applicable)

You’re a detail‑driven finance professional who enjoys getting things right, keeping things moving, and taking ownership. You’re comfortable working independently, but you also work well with a team and communicate clearly.

• Strong on‑time delivery with a high standard of accuracy and quality
• Advanced Excel skills and solid hands‑on experience with Pastel
• Comfortable taking ownership of finance deliverables across multiple entities
• Proven ability to manage multi‑entity reporting cycles and compliance deadlines
• Able to balance transactional processing with reporting and compliance responsibilities
• Sound knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Clear communicator with strong interpersonal skills
• Highly organised, proactive, and detail‑oriented
• Able to work remotely with minimal supervision when required

• 5 years’ experience in an accounting / finance role
• Proven experience with end‑to‑end finance processing (transactional work, reconciliations, reporting, and compliance support)
• Proven experience working across multiple entities/companies (multi‑entity accounting and compliance)
• Proven experience managing statutory and regulatory compliance administration (including VAT/SARS submissions, audit support, and compliance calendars)
• 2+ years’ experience on Pastel Accounting
• Advanced Excel
• Some experience with Tax
