Risk Management Analyst – Acorns
Work Type: Remote (Optional office access in Irvine, CA)
Salary Range: $95,000 – $110,000 per year
Acorns is seeking a Risk Management Analyst to join its Financial Risk team. In this role, you will develop and implement scalable risk strategies related to money movement and referral programs
, ensuring that risk mitigation supports both company growth and a positive customer experience.
You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate risk-based decision-making into product development and operational processes
, helping maintain strong financial risk controls across the organization.
Develop and implement scalable strategies to mitigate financial risks related to money movement and referral programs
.Ensure risk mitigation practices support both business growth and customer experience.
Partner with teams across:
Banking
Investment
Analytics
Data Science
Product
Align risk management strategies with company initiatives and product roadmaps.
Query and analyze complex datasets to transform raw data into actionable insights.
Build automated processes that improve analytical rigor in risk and product initiatives.
Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
.Identify anomalies and elevate risks when necessary.
Optimize strategies to reduce financial losses while maintaining acceptable customer false-positive rates.
Develop a strong understanding of the technical infrastructure supporting core financial products
.Identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend improvements.
Contribute to reducing financial losses and operational risk.
Ensure the company’s risk practices remain best-in-class and customer-focused
.
Bachelor’s degree in:
Business
Finance
Mathematics
Or another technical field.
3–5 years of experience in an analytical, operational, or risk-focused role.
Experience with in a financial institution or fintech environment preferred
.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Ability to transform complex datasets into scalable solutions and automated processes.
Experience querying and analyzing large data environments.
Strong attention to detail and execution.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Passion for solving complex financial and societal challenges.
Strong motivation to deliver high-impact solutions.
