Chief Financial Officer | Post-Series A B2B SaaS | Fully Remote (UK)

The Company

We are partnering with a growing, post-Series A B2B SaaS business operating in a specialist enterprise software category. The platform provides mission-critical solutions to organisations with complex operational and regulatory requirements.

The company is revenue-generating, capital-efficient and backed by institutional investors. With a distributed team across multiple geographies and a strong recurring revenue base, the business is entering its next phase of structured growth.

As part of this evolution, they are seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer to act as a strategic partner to the Founder & CEO. This role will play a central part in strengthening financial strategy, enhancing investor communication, and building governance frameworks appropriate for a scaling, multi-entity SaaS organisation.

The Role

Reporting directly to the CEO, the CFO will take full ownership of financial operations and reporting, ensuring clarity, insight and forward-looking strategic control.

This is a hands‑on role suited to a finance leader who thrives in a lean environment and is comfortable operating as a player‑coach. The successful candidate will combine strong financial controls with commercial depth, elevate the sophistication of SaaS metrics and modelling, and build a scalable finance function fit for the next stage of growth.

The CFO will play a central role in investor communications and board engagement, strengthening financial storytelling and supporting future fundraising initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead all accounting and financial operations across UK and US entities, ensuring robust controls and compliance.
  • Deliver timely, accurate and insightful management reporting to support executive decision‑making.
  • Own cash forecasting, financial modelling and unit economics analysis to drive profitability and growth insight.
  • Partner closely with the CEO on investor communications, fundraising and board reporting.
  • Implement automation, reporting enhancements and scalable processes to modernise the finance function.
  • Elevate SaaS KPI tracking to ensure finance acts as a true front‑office contributor to revenue growth.
  • Mentor and develop the finance function as the business scales.
  • Establish governance frameworks appropriate for a multi‑jurisdictional SaaS organisation.
  • Ensure finance operates as a proactive strategic partner rather than a back‑office function.
What We Need to See:
  • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA preferred but not essential).
  • 3–5+ years’ experience in a SaaS finance leadership role, ideally within B2B.
  • Proven hands‑on experience managing multi‑entity operations and cross‑border considerations.
  • Strong FP&A capability, including budgeting, forecasting and scenario modelling.
  • Clear ability to articulate financial performance and strategy to investors and board stakeholders.
  • Experience implementing reporting improvements, automation or data visualisation tools.
  • Strong commercial judgement and intellectual agility.
  • Comfortable operating as a player‑coach in a lean, scaling environment.
What We Would Like to See:
  • Experience supporting businesses serving both SMB/mid‑market and enterprise clients, with an understanding of differing commercial dynamics and margin profiles.
  • Experience operating within a VC‑backed environment, ideally through fundraising rounds from Seed to Series A/B.
  • Exposure to long sales cycles and complex enterprise deal structures (multi‑year contracts, phased implementations, revenue recognition considerations).
  • Experience building or reshaping a finance function from a lean starting point ahead of scale.
  • Strong understanding of core SaaS metrics (ARR, NRR, CAC, LTV, cohort analysis) and their application in strategic decision‑making.

Location: UK‑based (Fully remote), with occasional travel to London as required.

Start Date: ASAP (can accommodate 3‑month notice period)
