We are currently looking for a Deposit Operations Specialist II to join our Deposit Customer Service Operations team.
Job SummaryThe Deposit Operations Specialist II is responsible for performing a variety of complex deposit operations functions and providing high-quality service and support to internal and external customers. This position serves as a key resource for branch and call center staff, assisting with account maintenance, research, and problem resolution. The Specialist II demonstrates a thorough understanding of deposit systems, regulations, and processes, ensuring that all tasks are completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with bank policies and regulatory standards.
OperationalResponsibilities
- Process and review daily deposit operations tasks including account maintenance, stop payments, returned items, and adjustments.
- Research and resolve complex account discrepancies and posting errors in a timely and accurate manner.
- Perform verification and processing of incoming and outgoing ACH and check-related transactions.
- Perform deposit compliance functions including Reg E claims, CIP reviews, and OFAC checks.
- Review and reconcile daily deposit reports such as restricted card reports, exception reports, and balancing ATM GL account.
- Maintain proper documentation of account changes and research requests in accordance with record retention and audit standards.
- Collaborate with branches and other departments to ensure efficient resolution of deposit-related issues.
- Recommend and support process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide professional and courteous assistance to customers via phone, secure message, and chat related to deposit account inquiries, transactions, and maintenance.
- Support internal partners by responding to branch and departmental inquiries regarding deposit procedures, account/internet banking setup, and troubleshooting.
- Handle escalated service issues and provide timely follow-up to ensure complete resolution.
- Educate customers and staff on bank policies, deposit products, and online banking tools.
- Maintain accurate and detailed notes for all interactions in appropriate systems.
- High school diploma or equivalent required, associate’s degree in business, Finance, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in deposit operations, banking call center, or similar financial services environment.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to research, analyze, and resolve complex issues.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of deposit products and regulatory requirements (Reg E, CC, D, DD, BSA, etc.).
- Working knowledge of core banking systems and document imaging platforms.
- Ability to lift/carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to remain stationary (sitting or standing) for prolonged periods.
- Ability to conduct keyboard/computer work for extensive periods.
- Ability to communicate clearly (understand/be understood) with customers in person or over the phone/computer.
- Flexible work environment: generally, 4 days in-office and 1 day work-from-home, dependent on business requirements.
