Underwriter, Finance & Banking

We're hiring experienced Mortgage Underwriters to support broker‑submitted loans and ensure high‑quality, compliant decisions. Ideal candidates are detail‑oriented, collaborative, and experienced with FHA, VA, and conventional underwriting.

• Underwrite broker loan files for FHA, VA, and conventional products.
• Review and analyze credit, income, assets, and documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Complete 2-3 initial and 6-8 final files per day (volume dependent).
• Collaborate with loan structure, income teams, and compliance partners.
• Ensure adherence to investor and agency guidelines:
  FHA, HUD, VA, VA IRRRL, VA SAR, Trums
  
  ID Registration
  .
• Approve/deny loans and resolve outstanding documentation or guideline issues.
• Maintain consistent quality and meet all regulatory requirements.

• 3+ years of mortgage underwriting experience (required).
• Strong knowledge of FHA, VA, conventional guidelines.
• Experience with HUD, VA IRRRL, VA SAR, Trums
  
  ID Registration
  .
• Proficiency with automated underwriting systems;
  Encompass & Excel preferred.
• Understanding of federal/state regulations, including HMDA
  .
• Minimum assessment score:
  15
  .
• Not eligible:
  Loss mitigation or servicing underwriters.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plano, TX.

The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $31.25/hr.
