We are seeking a dynamic and commercially-minded Head of FP&A to join our finance team. This is a high-impact leadership role that will serve as a critical business partner to the CFO and executive team, shaping Xapo’s growth trajectory through data-driven financial strategy.
You are not just a reporter of numbers; you are a co-creator of our financial future. You will own the translation of our corporate strategy into a comprehensive financial roadmap, using forecasting, modeling, and deep analysis to guide critical decisions. Your primary mandate is to go beyond traditional FP&A by providing proactive insights that challenge assumptions, identify commercial opportunities, and unlock sustainable growth.
This role requires a leader who thrives on building strong cross-functional partnerships, especially with Product, Engineering, and Marketing, to drive efficiency and optimize performance. You will oversee strategic OPEX management while developing the frameworks and reporting that hold the organization accountable to its objectives. This position is ideal for a leader from a high-growth fintech environment who is passionate about building a best-in‑class finance function at the intersection of crypto and banking.
Responsibilities- Partner with the CFO to formulate, communicate, and drive Xapo's financial strategy, presenting insights and recommendations to senior management and the Board.
- Lead the core financial planning processes, including forecasting, scenario modeling, and long-range strategic planning.
- Design and own the executive-level reporting frameworks to monitor business performance, connecting financial results to strategic KPIs and drivers.
- Lead strategic OPEX management and the annual budgeting cycle, with a focus on optimizing resource allocation to drive growth. This includes owning the commercial evaluation of vendor spend and modeling variable costs in technology-driven departments (e.g., engineering bonuses, performance marketing).
- Serve as a critical business partner to functional leaders, providing deep financial analysis and data-driven insights that challenge assumptions and unlock growth opportunities.
- Lead the development and maintenance of sophisticated financial models to support strategic initiatives, new product launches, and risk assessments.
- Drive the evolution of our financial systems (including Anaplan) to automate reporting, enhance analytical capabilities, and provide self-service insights to stakeholders.
- Provide input into capital requirement methodologies and other regulatory financial processes.
- Over time, supervise and mentor a growing FP&A team, fostering a culture of accountability, commercial curiosity, and excellence.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role.
- Deep experience in a high-growth fintech, crypto, or modern financial services environment is essential.
- A strong commercial mindset with a proven ability to translate complex data into actionable growth strategies.
- Exceptional business partnering skills, with a clear track record of successfully influencing decisions and strategy across non-finance functions (Product, Engineering, Marketing, etc.).
- Exceptional analytical and financial modeling skills.
- Proficiency with modern financial planning systems (e.g., Anaplan), data analytics, and reporting tools.
