Senior Tax Analyst – Fixed Asset & Automation Process Lead
Location:
Remote
Reports To:
Senior Manager, Direct Tax
We’re looking for a Senior Tax Analyst who can take ownership of our fixed asset processes and help modernize how tax interacts with our systems and data. Fixed assets are a key area of opportunity for us, and we’re seeking someone who enjoys digging into details, cleaning up processes, improving data quality, and building automation that strengthens controls and reduces manual work.
This role sits in the Direct Tax group and supports federal, state, and provision work, but the core focus will be on fixed asset remediation and process automation.
We are open to candidates who are strong in fixed assets, strong in automation, or ideally bring a hybrid of both.
What You’ll Do Fixed Asset Ownership & Process Improvement- Take ownership of tax’s fixed asset process across entities and systems.
- Clean up existing fixed asset data, depreciation methods, lives, conventions, and book‑to‑tax differences.
- Improve monthly/quarterly depreciation workflows, reconciliations, and audit trails.
- Partner with Accounting, who currently uses Net Suite Fixed Assets, to align data and processes across systems.
- Support evaluation of whether tax should migrate from Sage to Net Suite FA and contribute to that transition if needed.
- Develop standardized templates, documentation, and repeatable close and reporting processes.
- Build automation to streamline fixed asset, close, and tax workflows using Alteryx or similar tools (Power Query, SQL, VBA, or Bloomberg Tax Provision automation).
- Create repeatable workflows for data imports/exports, reconciliations, and BTD analyses.
- Replace manual Excel routines with automated, scalable processes.
- Support broader tax department workflow improvements as part of our automation initiative.
- Support preparation of federal and state income tax returns.
- Assist with ASC 740 provision work (fixed asset roll forwards, deferred tax impacts, true‑ups).
- Contribute to tax account reconciliations and audit support.
We understand this role spans multiple skill sets, and we are open to candidates who are strong in fixed assets, strong in automation, or ideally both.
Priority Skills (Candidates may be strong in one or both) Fixed Assets (FA)- Experience as an advanced end‑user in Sage, Net Suite FA, SAP FA, Oracle FA, or similar.
- Experience remediating or improving fixed asset processes (data cleanup, reconciling to GL, depreciation methods/lives).
- Ability to take ownership of a messy process and drive improvement.
- Experience building automated workflows using:
- Alteryx (ideal), or
- Power Query, SQL, VBA, Bloomberg TP automation, or similar.
- Ability to replace manual Excel processes with scalable solutions.
- Experience supporting income tax compliance or provision.
- Exposure to multiple systems (e.g., Sage + Net Suite FA).
- Experience with system transitions or data migrations.
- Process or control documentation.
- Interest in transitioning into accounting long‑term.
- Someone who loves solving problems and improving messy processes.
- Someone who is hands‑on with systems and data, not just compliance.
- Someone who can collaborate with both Tax and Accounting.
- Someone who has a builder mindset and enjoys making things more efficient.
- Opportunity to lead a critical process overhaul early in your career.
- High visibility across Tax and Accounting teams.
- Flexibility in location and openness to future career mobility.
- A supportive team that values process improvement and innovation.
