Finance Manager

Robert Half are working with a growing private equity-backed group (c.£50m turnover) to assist with finding an experienced INTERIM Finance Manager / Senior Accountant to provide hands-on support during a transitional period following a restructure.

The business operates multiple brands and requires a technically strong individual to ensure robust reporting, compliance, and control while permanent recruitment is completed.

Role:
Interim Finance Manager / Accountant

Location: Central Cheltenham (Hybrid - 2 days office)

Start Date: ASAP (ideally no later than the second week of March)

Duration: 3-4 months (Interim - covering permanent recruitment)

Salary: £300+pd

The Role

This is a hands-on finance role focused on stabilising the month-end process and ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities include:

• Full ownership of monthly management accounts
• Statutory accounts preparation
• Balance sheet control and reconciliations
• Oversight of VAT and regulatory returns
• Supporting Regulatory reporting requirements
• Cashflow management and reporting
• Supporting audit preparation (if applicable)
• Working closely with senior leadership to improve reporting clarity
• Supporting junior team members

Candidate Profile

• Qualified or qualified by experience (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
• Strong management and statutory accounting background within a SME
• Proven experience in interim or fast-moving environments
• Able to implement structure and improve processes quickly
• Sage 200 experience essential
• Available at short notice
