About the Role
We are looking for a Collections Manager to join our team and oversee the collections department, ensuring timely and efficient recovery of outstanding debts. This position will involve managing a team, developing strategies to improve collection efforts, and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. - Lead, mentor, and train a team of collections specialists to ensure goals and productivity are met.
- Create and implement processes to optimize debt recovery and reduce aging accounts.
- Analyze and report on collections metrics, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
- Ensure the team complies with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding debt collection practices (e.g., Fair Debt Collection Practices Act).
- Handle escalated customer inquiries, negotiating repayment terms or resolving disputes professionally.
- Work with Finance, Legal, and Customer Service to align strategies and address customer accounts effectively.
- Provide regular updates on the status of outstanding accounts, departmental performance, and recovery goals.
- 5+ years in collections, credit, or accounts receivable with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Proven ability to manage and motivate a team to achieve goals and maintain high performance.
- Strong analytical skills to analyze complex data and implement strategies for improvement.
- In‑depth knowledge of collection laws and regulations, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to engage with clients and customers professionally.
- Familiarity with collections software, CRM tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or a related field.

Compensation & Benefits- Salary: $115,000 - $130,000 per year, based on experience.
