GENERALJOB DESCRIPTION
The Accounting Supervisor will play a key leadership role within Duha’s Finance Team. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the day‑to‑day performance of the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions (three direct reports) while providing hands‑on support for month‑end and year‑end general ledger reconciliations. Additionally, this role will contribute significantly to the ongoing improvement and modernization of Duha’s financial systems.
As the company transitions to a new finance software platform, the Finance Supervisor will be an active contributor to planning, testing, data migration, and process alignment efforts to ensure a successful implementation and improved workflow integration.
This is a collaborative role that requires strong accounting acumen, team supervision skills, and systems awareness. The successful candidate will be solutions‑oriented, detail‑focused, and motivated to drive efficient, accurate financial operations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Team Leadership & Oversight- Supervise and support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable team members, ensuring timely and accurate processing of transactions, including all payments/receipts.
- Provide coaching and support to team members, set performance standards, and encourage continuous improvement.
- Prepare or review key general ledger reconciliations and assist with month‑end and year‑end close procedures.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and assist in preparing information for internal and external audits.
- Compile various internal and external bank and financial reports as required.
- Act as a key contributor in the transition to new finance software, including testing, data validation, and end‑user training.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to streamline workflows and increase efficiency in the AP, AR, and GL areas.
- Lead or involvement in our Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Support the Assistant Controller with ongoing systems initiatives and financial reporting needs.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
- Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel; experience with finance system implementation is an asset.
- Ability to analyze, reconcile, and troubleshoot accounting issues with accuracy and efficiency.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem solving.
- Highly organized and detail‑oriented; able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- CPA designation (or progress toward CPA) is an asset but not required.
- Minimum 3–5 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial operations.
- Prior experience supervising or mentoring junior accounting staff is preferred.
