Our Proprietary Research team, also known as Market Intelligence, plays a critical role in this endeavor, partnering with our investment professionals to uncover hidden insights and generate alpha through deep fundamental research and the application of cutting-edge data science techniques to alternative data sets.

As a Data Scientist on our Proprietary Research team, you will:

• Conduct research through data mining and statistical modeling to discover insights from big data that are used by our investment professionals to make investment decisions.
• Work in a highly collegial environment that emphasizes teaching and learning as a team.
• Tackle the challenges of featuring and modeling large, unstructured data using machine learning and statistical techniques.
• Manage all aspects of the research and analysis process, including methodology selection, data collection and quality, modeling and analysis, and performance monitoring.
• Deliver research findings to investment teams, portfolio managers, and other internal clients.
• Work within a team to help drive technical innovation through a collaborative R&D process.
• Stay current on the evolving alternative data market and its role in discretionary investing.
• Speak with experts both inside and outside the Firm to understand data needs and offerings.
• Work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Work as part of a cross-functional team made up of investment, research, and compliance professionals.

• Demonstrated interest in machine learning, statistical models, and data mining tools.
• Bachelor's/Master's degree in a quantitative discipline with 1+ year of professional experience.
• Strong programming skills in Python (preferred), R, Spark, or SQL.
• Exceptional understanding of statistics and advanced modeling techniques.
• Ability to communicate complex analyses and results clearly.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and project management skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
