What We're Looking For

We are seeking a Dividend Analyst to join our Quant Strategy Team as a content writer for investment research articles. In this role, you will serve as a financial subject-matter expert and contributing author, producing in-depth content on the strategy, benefits, and mechanics of dividend investing under the byline of our VP of Quantitative Strategy. You will work closely with the Seeking Alpha Quantitative Strategy team and Product Teams.

Notably, this position requires strong communication and presentation skills, as articles and analyses will be published and complemented by opportunities to present via webinars with our VP of Quant Strategy.

What you'll do?

Reporting directly to the Quant Content Manager and indirectly to the VP of Quantitative Strategy, the Dividend Analyst will be a primary contributor to the Quant Team’s research and published analysis, providing investment research and Quant recommendations for dividend stocks. The Dividend Analyst will closely monitor Seeking Alpha dividend screens and dividend portfolios with respect to SA Quant Dividend Grades, specific dividend data, along with following recent headlines, politics, and economic trends to aid the development of dynamic concepts for unique articles, a dividend newsletter, and a series of articles for a dividend product.

The role involves closely collaborating with members of the Quant, Product, Data, and Marketing teams, and requires a strong knowledge of economics, global financial markets, and dividend analysis. Additionally, strong communication skills and the ability to create effective slide decks for presentations is essential. Key parts of the remit are as follows:

  • Research, write, and publish 3-4 articles per week.
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of dividend stocks using SA Quant screens, financial models, market data, and reporting tools.
  • Compile a variety of financial spreadsheets that are dividend-centric.
  • Prepare and disseminate timely and accurate analysis that demonstrates the benefits of Seeking Alpha’s Quant Ratings and Dividend Scorecards.
  • Perform fundamental and macroeconomic research, conduct independent investment and dividend yield analysis to evaluate dividend-paying investments.
  • Prepare and deliver performance reports and presentations to internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market activity, data-driven trends for dividend stocks, and an awareness of the competitive landscape with respect to dividend products.
  • Work cross-functionally between the Quant, Marketing, and Editorial teams to publish articles and optimize reach through targeted SEO processes.
Requirements
  • A must - previous experience and published articles on dividend stocks.
  • A must - demonstrated understanding of dividend analysis.
  • 5+ years in equity markets or equity investment research. A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field is required, with an advanced understanding of dividend investment strategies and equities.
  • Deep knowledge of income statements, cashflow statements, balance sheets, corporate capital structures, and general financial statement analysis.
  • Expert written and verbal communication and critical thinking skills, is highly articulate and able to explain complex concepts clearly.
  • Must have strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • The ability to react quickly to breaking news and publish articles in a matter of hours.
  • Is able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Excel, financial modeling tools, business intelligence platforms and/or portfolio analytics software.

The applicable salary range for this position is $100,000/yr to $120,000/yr, which depends on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, location, business needs, and market demand.
