Opportunity: EY’s Financial Services Organization (FSO) is dedicated to delivering exceptional tax and finance solutions to the most transformative financial institutions worldwide. The State & Local Tax Edge practice provides specialized tax technical services to both U.S. and global clients. As a Senior Analyst in this practice, you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver creative tax compliance and consulting solutions while building long‑lasting client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze an evolving portfolio of complex tax operations to provide meaningful business insights
- Identify potential opportunities and risks and communicate these to clients
- Research current market trends to maintain credibility as a trusted advisor
- Develop clear, intelligent plans and approaches to improve clients’ tax activities
- Research clients’ business operations and build long‑lasting relationships to tailor advice to their specific needs
- Work with a motivated team of professionals to deliver high‑quality solutions
- Build effective long‑term relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
- Maintain your reputation in the field by constantly updating and sharing your technical and best practice knowledge
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline or a graduate degree in Tax or Law
- Progress towards CPA or Enrolled Agent license
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in professional services or a professional tax organization
- A thorough understanding of automated tax processing systems and laws within your area of technical professionalism
- Excellent collaboration, negotiation and communication skills, and the confidence to challenge senior colleagues and stakeholders
- A commitment to continuous learning and professional development
- Ideal – thorough understanding of state and local partnership tax, proficiency in Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), experience with return preparation software and experience working in cross‑functional teams
