Responsibilities
Kforce's client, a publicly traded financial services company located in Parsippany, NJ is expanding and looking for a Tax Specialist. This role will be 2 days in the office & 3 days work from home. This company offers great benefits along with an annual bonus.
Summary:
This person will support tax accounting and compliance activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting and adherence to applicable accounting standards, internal policies, and regulatory requirements. This role prepares and reviews income tax provisions, reconciliations, compliance filings, and related financial disclosures, while assisting with audits and process improvements.
- Prepare and assist in the review of federal and state income tax provisions, including current and deferred taxes and provision-to-return reconciliations.
- Prepare quarterly and annual tax-related financial statement disclosures and supporting analysis.
- Support federal and state income tax compliance activities, including return preparation, estimated payments, and extensions.
- Assist with audit support for federal and state tax matters, including gathering documentation and coordinating with external auditors.
- Perform tax-related analysis to support financial reporting and compliance requirements.
- Prepare and review selected state and local tax filings, including returns, estimates, and extensions.
- As a Tax Specialist, you will support internal controls and compliance documentation related to tax processes.
- Identify opportunities to streamline tax reporting and compliance processes through automation and improved documentation.
- Assist with tax reporting and audit support related to employee benefit and organizational plans, as applicable.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
- Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA or equivalent) preferred.
- 3-5 years of relevant tax accounting experience.
- Experience with tax provisions, reconciliations, and financial statement disclosures.
- Strong understanding of income tax accounting and compliance processes.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
