The Role
The Finance Manager, Tax supports the Vice President of Tax in overseeing US tax functions. Responsibilities include routine to moderately complex activities of the tax department: US Federal and state tax compliance, tax accounting, research & planning, financial reporting, correspondence with state agencies and audits. The position maintains the tax calendar, monitors due dates, and works closely with an outsourced EY arrangement for income tax provisions and compliance.

Responsibilities include:

• Income Tax Compliance (50%) – Manage, coordinate, and review all federal, state, and local income tax returns; book‑to‑tax adjustments; prepare estimates, extensions, and journal entries; monitor filing frequencies; correspond with state agencies.
• Income Tax Provision (30%) – Manage quarterly and year‑end ASC 740 tax provision, ASC 740 footnote SEC disclosures, internal controls, and coordination with external auditors.
• VAT / GST Compliance (10%) – Prepare monthly and quarterly VAT or GST returns in international jurisdictions and manage related inquiries and audits.
• Other tasks (10%) – Plan and coordinate projects supporting tax compliance and provision; streamline processes; develop cross‑functional relationships.

Required Skills and Professional Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred (active, inactive, or progressing).
• 7+ years of professional tax, financial, transactional, and reporting experience.
• Two+ years of tax experience with a Big 4 or large regional public accounting firm is a plus.
• Strong technical tax background under ASC 740 and US corporate, state, and local income tax.
• Experience with public company SOX controls environments is highly preferred.
• Working knowledge of taxing authority audit processes in various jurisdictions.
• Critical thinking, analytical, and independent work skills; team player; strong verbal and written communication.
• Detail oriented; proficiency with Excel (Pivots, Vlookups, etc.) and accounting tools.
