Salary range is $62,707.71-$82,303.87
. Job Grade, EX 13. Final salary is dependent on candidate's experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities
  • Assist, direct and counsel Relationship Managers in qualifying loans, determining borrower's needs, determining appropriate commercial loan product, and obtaining requisite financial data.
  • Structure transactions by being open minded and creative while balancing the risk/reward rather than concluding immediately that the deal cannot be done. Provide direction and ideas/suggestions on how to market our structure to the member.
  • Utilize excellent credit underwriting skills to author well thought out and concise financial and repayment analysis with a focus on cash flow, liquidity, and leverage analysis of relationships using appropriate structure and identifying key risks.
  • Work proactively, in a constructive, diplomatic manner, with both internal and external contacts to keep transactions moving. Strive to minimize turnaround-time while thoroughly documenting credit requests.
  • Provide leadership in the market by being a positive contributor to the team and embracing change.
  • Manage and monitor the credit risk profile in the commercial portfolio.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills both internally and externally between Members, Relationship Managers, Loan Administration, Loan Documentation & Funding Control and other departments involved in the loan process.
  • State opinions in a clear, concise manner and be able to defend positions with Senior Management.
  • Work with Enterprise Risk Management to review or address loan file quality, audit exceptions and assist or lead meetings with State of Arizona and NCUA Federal examiners.
  • Mentor junior underwriters as needed to support the underwriting team and Business Banking Department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

    Minimum Education & Experience
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field or equivalent experience
    • 3 years of commercial real estate underwriting experience
    Additional Preferred Education & Experience
    • Formal credit training experience is preferred
    Knowledge & Skills
    • Must display professionalism and possess excellent (verbal and written) business communication skills
    • Requires strong active listening, problem solving and a high-level of independent decision making skills
    • Must have the ability to work independently and be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
    • Advanced knowledge of commercial credit policies and regulations, loan documentation, bankruptcy and related legal and compliance issues is necessary
    • Familiarity with SBA underwriting and documentation requirements is a plus
    • Ability to communicate with upper management and external regulators

    This job requires standing or sitting for the majority of the time and the ability to lift up to 10 lbs.
