Finance Manager

* Lead the development and management of the firm’s annual budget and financial forecasts.
* Work with department heads and practice group leaders to support budgeting and cost control.
* Supervise billing team and ensure timely and accurate invoice generation.
* Monitor accounts receivable, aging reports, and collections activities.
* Address complex billing issues or client-specific invoicing requirements (e.g., LEDES billing, e-billing platforms).
* Supervise finance staff (accountants, billing specialists, A/P, A/R clerks).
* Develop and implement finance policies, internal controls, and best practices.
* Collaborate with HR on payroll, partner compensation, and benefits-related financial matters.
* Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA, MBA preferred).
* 5–8 years of progressive finance/accounting experience, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
* Proficiency in legal accounting systems (e.g., Aderant, Elite, Clio, Pro Law).
* Strong understanding of GAAP, trust accounting rules, and legal billing practices.
* Excellent Excel and financial modeling skills.
* Strong leadership, communication, and analytical abilities.
* Experience with e-billing portals and LEDES format
* Knowledge of financial compliance specific to law firms (e.g., ABA Model Rules, IOLTA)
* Familiarity with partner compensation models and capital contributions
* Ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment
* Hybrid Role-based in San Antonio, TX.
* A combination of in-person meetings and remote work. Occasional travel is required for stakeholder engagement, community events, and conferences.
