Description
The Managing Director of Loan Sales leads the distribution of loan products to commercial banks and institutional investor clients. This senior role is responsible for driving revenue, developing new and managing existing client relationships, and executing complex leveraged loan transactions in both the primary and secondary markets.
Duties and Responsibilities- Lead the primary and secondary distribution of syndicated and other senior loan products across leveraged finance transactions, ensuring efficient execution and settlement.
- Maintain deep relationships with select commercial banks and institutional investor clients including CLO managers, hedge funds, and credit-focused asset managers.
- Execute investor outreach for primary new issue syndications and secondary trading.
- Work with the loan trader and desk analysts to generate secondary trading ideas.
- Gather market intelligence and investor client feedback to optimize sell-down strategies in collaboration with syndicate.
- Mentor junior sales professionals and support talent development across the desk.
- Represent the firm at industry forums and investor conferences.
- Ensure adherence to internal risk policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with legal, compliance, and credit teams to manage transaction risk, including fronting risk.
- Facilitate onboarding and vetting of new investor clients with internal teams (KYC, Legal, Compliance, Credit).
- Maintain CRM records and track investor engagement metrics.
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- Minimum 10 years experience of institutional credit sales experience with extensive book of institutional investor client and bank relationships.
- FINRA Series 79, 63 (or equivalent).
- Deep understanding of leveraged finance industry trends, regulatory frameworks, and capital markets products
- Team player who demonstrates highest ethical standards and commercial drive.
- Proven ability to build trusted relationships with lending institutions.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills across all organizational levels.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Demonstrated leadership, integrity, and a client-centric mindset.
- Adaptability to change and resourcefulness in navigating constraints to deliver results.
Exempt Status: (Yes = not eligible for overtime pay) (
