Summary
The Associate plays a critical role in supporting the origination and execution of equity and equity-linked transactions. This mid-level position is designed for professionals with strong analytical, organizational, and leadership capabilities, gaining exposure to a wide range of industries and transaction types, including IPOs, follow‑ons, ATM’s, forward ATM’s, equity‑linked securities, and $25 par yield offerings. Associates work closely with senior ECM professionals, industry coverage teams, and product partners to deliver integrated capital markets solutions.
The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple work streams in a fast‑paced environment. The role also includes training and managing Analysts, maintaining consistency in work product across the desk, and contributing to client‑facing efforts, particularly in support of specialty coverage groups.
- Support the execution of equity and equity‑linked transactions.
- Prepare client‑facing materials such as pitch books, offering memorandums, investor presentations, and internal approval documents.
- Assist in pricing strategy, syndication planning, and coordination with Sales & Trading, Research, Legal, and Compliance teams.
- Contribute to client pitches and investor meetings by providing market insights and transaction analysis.
- Help develop strategic financing solutions tailored to client objectives and market conditions.
- Maintain and update transaction comparables and market data.
- Conduct market research, valuation analysis, and peer benchmarking to support idea generation and business development.
- Track equity market trends, investor sentiment, and regulatory developments.
- Assist in identifying new business opportunities and product innovations.
- Work closely with Analysts to ensure high‑quality deliverables and provide guidance on transaction processes.
- Collaborate with industry coverage, M&A, and Debt Capital Markets teams to deliver comprehensive client solutions.
- Maintain CRM systems and databases to track deal pipelines and client interactions.
- Support internal reporting and performance tracking initiatives.
- Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, or economics
- 3+ years’ experience in Capital Markets, Investment Banking, or Corporate Finance
- FINRA Series 79, 63 (or equivalent)
- Located in or willing to relocate to Columbus, OH or Charlotte, NC
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across teams
- Commitment to professional integrity and continuous development
- Client‑centric mindset with a focus on relationship building
