Responsibilities- Manages post‑award activities within a Research Administration Services (RAS) unit in support of an assigned portfolio of grants and contracts.
- Reviews, reconciles, and projects award finances; prepares adjustments, corrections, and financial reports; and ensures all financial requirements are met and the award is closed out.
- Provides high‑quality customer service to faculty conducting sponsored research and collaborates with post‑award specialists to resolve issues.
- Establishes account parameters, including billing, reporting, budget, and cost‑sharing obligations, and sets up the award in the financial system.
- Distributes award information to PIs, co‑PIs, and relevant staff; coordinates payroll adjustments for budgeted positions.
- Manages budget, reporting, and compliance timelines throughout the grant lifecycle, communicating regularly with PIs about budget adjustments.
- Prepares and submits financial reports to sponsors, monitors compliance with agency and university regulations, and assists PIs with non‑financial reports.
- Coordinates and submits requests for No‑Cost Extensions, Carryover, rebudgeting, changes in scope, and other award modifications; facilitates invoice approval for subcontractors.
- Reviews effort reports and manages the quarterly effort certification process; applies federal and university rules to effort allocation.
- Assists in transferring awards out of the university and closes out all funded projects according to university process and timelines.
- Performs related responsibilities as required.
- Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of experience in grants and contracts management, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Knowledge of federal rules and regulations, terms, and conditions related to research grants and contracts.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
- Preferred knowledge of the People Soft Financial System.

Tasks related to this position can be performed remotely with only occasional visits to an Emory University location. Eastern (EST) time zone business hours may apply.
